Auto-populate Email Subject Lines and Document Names for Downloads

Single document emails and downloads delivered from Westlaw UK will no longer receive a generic subject line when you do not populate the subject line or file name.

The email subject line will now be pre-populated to a maximum of 50 characters. For example:

Westlaw UK results: [2 Cr App R 367]
• Westlaw UK results: [What exclusions are there to the hearsay rule?]

A downloaded file will be given a name with a maximum of 30 characters. The date (mm-dd-yy) and time stamp (24hr) will always appear at the end as part of the file name, however, will not be counted as part of the 30 character limit. For example:

• Westlaw UK results: [2 Cr App R 367] 07– 21-07 1537
• Westlaw UK results: [What exclusions are there to the hearsay rule?] 09-30-2015

Crime Multiple Database and Crime Journals Quick Search Screens

Available for the Crime practise area subscribers:

The new Crime Journals database, to Crime P contains articles from legal periodicals published by Sweet & Maxwell, Tottel Publishing and the Emerald Group on the subject of criminal law. Coverage varies by publication.

The three recently launched criminal journals on Westlaw UK are:

• The Criminal Lawyer - Tottel publishing
• The Journal of Money Laundering Control - Emerald Publishing

• The Journal of Financial Crime - Emerald Publishing

Accordingly, the Criminal Law Review tick box in the Crime Multiple Database Search screen has been removed and replaced with a Crime Journals tick box as shown in the below screenshot.

The new journal titles have been added to the Journal drop down box in the Crime Journals Quick Search screen.
