Inside this issue:


The majority of the enhancements in this release were initiated by feedback from our Beta Testers. All of the above, apart from British Company Cases which are available on Westlaw UK now, will appear, subject to testing, Wednesday 17 January 2007. We will send a further email to confirm that these changes have taken place.

 
     
  Recently Viewed Documents
You will be able to access your most recently viewed documents through the
Recent icon.



Clicking on the Recent icon will allow you to view the 10 most recently viewed documents with live links to take you back to any of these documents.

Provision Number Drop-down
A new drop-down list will be added to the Provision Number search field within both legislation search templates.

Drop-down options will include
:

• Part
• Appendix

• Article
• 
Paragraph
• Regulation
• Rule
• Schedule
• Section
• Chapter
• Order  

The Provision Number field operates independently of the drop-downallowing you to insert a section number, eg " s.2 ", and still run the chosen search.

  Date Browsing
The layout of the Date Browse option for Legislation, Cases and Journals has been changed as follows:

Search Within Results Highlighting
When searching within results for additional terms in any document selected, both the original and the new terms will be highlighted.

Cases Cited Display
The following changes have been made to the display of cases cited in:

  • Appellate History
  • Significant Cases Cited
  • Cases Citing This Case

1. Appellate History & Significant Cases Cited

  • The case name is displayed as a bold, black label 
  • The citations and court are combined as a single link to the Case Analysis document.


2. Cases Citing This Case

  • The case name is displayed as a black label
  • The citations and court are combined as a single link to the Case Analysis document.

Case Analysis Document Display
The journal article titles are now displayed within a Case Analysis document. This allows clearer differentiation between the title, keywords and the article citation.

You can now view the Westlaw UK Terms and Conditions via a link at the bottom of the Sign On screen.

British Company Cases - available now on Westlaw UK
We are pleased to announce that the British Company Cases, starting from 1983 to present, will be available on Westlaw UK, subject to testing, Wednesday 17 January 2007
This series includes full-text judgments of British company cases heard in:

• The High Court
• Scottish Court of Session
• Court of Appeal
• House of Lords
• Judicial Committee of the Privy Council

This adds a further 1,773 cases to Westlaw UK's current archive of over 186,000 cases and transcripts in full text.
