New People Finder tab

The new People Finder tab allows you to combine multiple public records databases. You will be able to search simultaneously, select the right individual from a list of possible results and generate a report based on selected records associated with that individual.

The only way to access People Finder is via the People Finder tab – it cannot be accessed by typing in a database identifier.

New RegulationsPlus Index

Browse or search the alphabetical index for a topic (e.g., Age Discrimination) and click the topic name. Direct links to relevant regulations are displayed in an easy-to-scan list. And if you don't choose the exact topic on your first try: All subtopics and cross-references are displayed on the screen, as well as user-friendly links to these topics.

The cross referencing feature in the RegulationsPlus Index can be a huge timesaver. If a topic (e.g., Age Discrimination) cites a cross-referenced topic (e.g., Mediation), you can click the cross-referenced topic name. Regulations that pertain to both topics, (e.g., mediation-related topics in the area of age discrimination), are cited, along with links to full-text documents.

Did you Know? – Westlaw makes it easy to monitor Mergers & Acquisitions

If your practice is affected by the current M&A boom, then the two databases recently released on Westlaw can save you lots of time. And, thanks to user-friendly search templates, you can get stellar results on your first try.

Mergers and Acquisitions-Deal Information (M&A-DEAL)

M&A-DEAL contains descriptive data on mergers and acquisition activity for approximately 182,000 U.S. mergers and acquisitions from 1977 to present and 292,000 international mergers and acquisitions from 1985 to present. The search template makes it easy to search by name or nation of an acquiror or target company, deal status, transaction type, business description, or other search restriction.

Model Documents: Mergers and Acquisitions (MODELDOC-M&A)

MODELDOC-M&A contains an extensive collection of M&A purchase agreements, notices, exhibits, and other documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC). You can use these documents to review language and authorities used for similar transactions and determine how other attorneys have addressed legal and factual circumstances similar to those of your client.
