International Business Law Journal

Published by Sweet & Maxwell, this journal is now available in full text. The journal presents expert articles and commentary on every aspect of international business law.

Written by practitioners from across the world, the journal draws together the opinion of experts showing how company, contract, investment, taxation and financial law, as well as arbitral decisions, impact on international business.

The journal also focuses on the application of international conventions and the development of new rules for international economic organisations. The archive commences in 1986 and will be rolled out over the next few months.

Coverage on Westlaw UK starts from 1995.

Res Publica: a Journal of Legal, Moral and Social Philosophy

Published by Springer, this journal is also now available in full text. This is an interdisciplinary publication concerned with the philosophical analysis of moral, political, social and legal issues. It provides a forum for discussion of theoretical issues; a public arena for voicing matters of practical concern and a vehicle for the interconnected questions of morality, politics, law and society and the relation of theory to practice.

The journal publishes articles and reviews essays which are both philosophically rigorous and accessible to a wide range of academics and professionals. Res Publica publishes the work of established scholars, as well as those at the beginning of their careers, in both Western and non-Western settings.

The WIPO Journal: Analysis and Debate of Intellectual Property Issues

This new journal, published in association with WIPO and Thomson Reuters, will be available in full text from 30 December 2009. This journal presents an exciting new forum for debating the key issues affecting intellectual property throughout the world. It offers an unbiased examination of how the issues affect practice from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Law and Philosophy

Published by Springer, this journal will be available in full text from 30 December 2009. Law and Philosophy serves as a forum for the publication of work in law and philosophy that is of common interest to individuals in the disciplines of jurisprudence and legal philosophy. The journal publishes articles that use all approaches in both fields. In addition, it publishes work in any of the major legal traditions, including common law, civil law, and the socialist tradition.

Coverage on Westlaw UK starts from 1997.

The European Journal of Law and Economics

Published by Springer Publishing, this journal will be available in full text from 30 December 2009. The journal provides readers with high quality and empirical research in law and economics. It publishes analytical studies on the impact of legal interventions into economic processes by legislators, courts and regulatory agencies.

There is an emphasis on European Community law and the comparative analysis of legal structures and legal problem solutions in member states of the European Community. The Journal also publishes important developments and topics in law and economic analysis which is documented and examined in special issues dedicated to that subject.

CONSULT THE NEW EDITION OF McGREGOR ON DAMAGES

The new 18th edition of McGregor on Damages is now available on Westlaw UK. The standard work and leading authority on the law of damages for nearly 150 years, the latest edition has been brought fully up to date with all developments in this field and includes:

•  Development and lack of it, in restitutionary damages: Severn Trent, CA 2004; WWF, CA

•  Remoteness in contract damages: unexpected new departure in HL, reversing unanimous CA,

KEEP UP TO DATE WITH TORT LAW

The 4th supplement to the 19th edition of Clerk & Lindsell on Tort is now available on Westlaw UK. Fully integrated into the main text, the new supplement takes account of all the latest key case law including:

•  Mitchell v Glasgow City Council on the duty owed by a local authority providing social housing
   and acting in accordance with statutory powers to a tenant to warn that another tenant had
   threatened to kill him (held that there was no duty to prevent harm being done by a third party)

•  Savage v South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on the duty owed by a public
   authority to a patient detained in hospital under art. 2 of the European Convention on Human

GET THE LATEST INFORMATION ON CONTEMPT

The 2nd supplement to the 3rd edition of Arlidge, Eady & Smith on Contempt is also now available on Westlaw UK.

Integrated into the main text, this new supplement includes updates on all the latest developments in this area of the law including:

•  Sinclair v HMA and R v Thakrar on the difficulties of guaranteeing the right to a fair trial in 
   light of the increasing availability of prejudicial material on the internet
