Legislation Status Icons

With the addition of Westlaw UK’s legislation status icons to the legislation PDFs in June 2008,  you can now easily identify when an enactment is either partially in force, or not yet in force. Flags indicate where particular enactments do not form part of the current law in force.

  Cumulative Amendments

More recently, in September we introduced Cumulative Amendments to Westlaw UK's legislation service. Each version of a provision contains an amendment footnote detailing how it was amended and a link to the amending provision.

With the introduction of Cumulative Amendments earlier this year, each version contains multiple footnotes detailing how the provision has been amended over time from its enactment.

Westlaw UK Cumulative Amendments include:

- updated text (using square brackets)
- amending provision
- in force date of the amendment

Cumulative Amendments are displayed both within the full text and within the PDF of the entire Act.
