Welcome to the August issue of Westlaw UK What's New.

Inside this issue we are pleased to announce a major upgrade to the way legislation is accessed on Westlaw UK. The following enhancements will be launched on
Westlaw UK over the next two weeks, subject to successful testing:

New Arrangement of Act/SI
Status Icons
• Version Navigation
• Dicey, Morris & Collins The Conflict of Laws on Westlaw UK
• 
New Report Available in Chargeback

 
     
 


New Arrangement of Act/SI

The new Arrangement of Act and SI documents allow you to:

 View and link to all provisions from one document

 See whether provisions have been repealed or have pending amendments

 Use checkboxes to select multiple provisions for print, email and download

Use the arrows on the right-hand side to expand and collapse the Arrangement document. You can access each section by clicking the relevant link.


Printing Sections from the Arrangement of Act/SI

You can now print individual sections of an Act or SI or the whole document by checking the boxes on the left-hand side and clicking the Print icon in the right-hand corner.

Status Icons

A new status icon has been added to indicate when a provision has been repealed:

  indicates the version is historic and has been superseded

 indicates the document or provision has been repealed

 indicates the provision has pending amendments not yet incorporated into the text

Status icons can be found in the Arrangement of Act, results lists and also in the full text of a provision.

Version Navigation

 

Westlaw UK contains more historic versions of legislation than any other source. 

 

Use the navigation arrows to browse through versions of an amended or repealed provision. The text clearly states the valid date range for the version being viewed.

 


Version information indicates the valid date range for a version. This information
is displayed in search results list:

It is also displayed in the full text legislation provision:

Where a provision has not yet come into force, this will be indicated:

Commencement Information is available for Acts dating back to 1991 and for SIs dating back to 1948. Where commencement information is not available for older Acts, this will be indicated:

Dicey, Morris & Collins The Conflict of Laws on Westlaw UK
 

The latest edition of Dicey, Morris & Collins The Conflict of Laws will be available within the Common Law Library on Westlaw UK in the next two weeks. You can browse to this and all other Common Law Library titles from the Westlaw UK homepage. Benjamin's Sale of Goods will follow and be available on Westlaw UK later this September.



You can also locate all Common Law Library titles by selecting the Commentary link from the top navigation bar and then selecting the Common Law Library link within the Related Category section.

New Report Available in Chargeback

To track usage on Westlaw UK a new Chargeback Report has been created to give you additional details for both Document Display and Document Delivery transactions. To access this report sign in to Chargeback and select Client Report – Detailed. Then select the fields you require and submit the report.

The new report includes the database name for all Document Delivery and Document Display transactions on the new Westlaw UK.
