WELCOME TO WESTLAW UK'S ROUND-UP
OF DEVELOPMENTS AND ENHANCEMENTS
IN 2009

Every year we enhance Westlaw UK to help make your work life that little bit easier. In 2009 we have added some great new content and made some of the biggest enhancements to the service to date.

The most notable of these is the addition of our new Annotated Statutes service.

We never develop the service in isolation. We value and place great emphasis on what you think your Westlaw UK service should look like. After all, it is you that uses it to help make the difference to your clients everyday.

Are there areas of the service where you would like to see enhancements made? Do you have any feedback?
Let us know what you think! You can drop us an email or give us a call. We are always delighted to hear from you.

ANNOTATED STATUTES
Understanding the law just got easier

  •  What will be the impact of new legislation?

Westlaw UK's Annotated Statutes give you the most authoritative and up-to-date guidance on the law as it develops through new legislation and judicial interpretation.

This major and exciting piece of product development will help you understand how the law affects you.

Within two weeks of Royal Assent our team of 40 experts will explain the effect, purpose and likely application of new Acts and selected Statutory Instruments. Our team is led by Daniel Greenberg – full-time Parliamentary Counsel from 1991 to 2008 and current part-time Parliamentary Counsel; Barrister; Editor of Stroud’s Judicial Dictionary of Words and Phrases, Craies on Legislation and Jowitt’s Dictionary of English Law.

Get the insight you need on new law, when you need it most.

Updated every 15 minutes, Monday to Friday, Westlaw UK’s Current Awareness service is the ideal way to get up-to-the-minute information on what’s happening in the law

LET INFORMATION COME TO YOU

Enhanced Alert Functionality
Our alerts service automatically update you on new content in the areas that interest you. Delivered daily, weekly or monthly, these are the ideal way for you to hear about new content and the opportunities it offers you.

And because you’re in control of the content there won’t be any spam. You can either choose an alert from over 100 preselected subject areas or create your own alerts using keywords, case names or legislation that you wish to be updated on.

You can set up as many alerts on as many different subjects as you like. You can even choose if you’d like a brief summary of what’s new or complete documents direct from Westlaw UK.

In 2009 we added key new functionality to our alerts service. You can now edit the content of an existing alert without having to delete it and start again.

Alongside Cases, Journals and Current Awareness content, you can now also set up alerts related to Legislation.

RSS Feeds
RSS feeds let you see when content has been updated. A feed is sent daily so you can see all the day’s developments in the subject areas you are interested in on the day they happen, without having to come to Westlaw UK to view them.

RSS is the ideal way for you to receive updates from Westlaw UK and enables you to easily publish the latest content on your intranet site. Alternatively, you can have live links delivered straight to your RSS compatible browser or reader.
