Westlaw UK’s Annotated Statutes are now live and available for you to use.

Westminster Acts, Scottish Acts, Welsh Measures and important Statutory Instruments from 2007 onwards are now annotated.

Key statutes including the Data Protection Act 1998, the Human Right Acts 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 will also be annotated during 2009. Analysis of pre-2007 legislation will be added throughout the rest of 2009 and on an ongoing basis. Existing annotations will be revised in line with changes to the law.

If there are any specific pieces of legislation that you would like us to address first, please let us know. Feedback here and we’ll do our best to provide the annotations that are most useful to you and your colleagues.

Speed and accuracy

New Acts and selected Statutory Instruments will be annotated within two weeks of publication. On occasion this may take longer due to the size of the Statute or late publication of the official document. Annotated Statutes give you the insight you need, when you need it most.

Authority and currency

As the law changes, so will Westlaw UK’s existing annotations. All annotations will reflect today’s legal and political environment so you are always up to speed with current interpretation practices.
